These rods or strips are first quality, 5-7mm thick they are easy to cut with porcelain grade nippers. 12mm wide and 48mm long (1/2x 2 inch) made from honed marble and stone that are used in classic Roman and Phoenician mosaics. The thickness varies depending on the density and crystalline structure of the stone. Sold loose in 250g weights (1/2lb) = +/- 29 pieces They can be mounted flat, laid on edge, or cut into shorter pieces and shaped. The colours come alive vividly when you seal it with a stone enhancer. Our photos are taken with wet tiles to show what the colour is when sealed.
